RJH Express, Inc. is a moving and storage company, headquartered in Vineland, NJ. Recently the company has expanded its range of services to include furniture and bedding deliveries for one of the areas leading department stores, as well as local decorators.

Orders to be delivered, complete with address, items purchased, and other delivery information is transferred electronically to RJH prior to the next days run. This allows the staff at RJH to route, stage, and schedule the deliveries a day in advance, and notify the recipients of their appointed delivery windows.

The next morning a tractor-trailer load or more of merchandise to be delivered that day arrives at RJH early in the morning. In a single motion, pieces of furniture are scanned, the staging information is displayed on the RF reader, and the furniture is staged for loading at the correct dock door, and in the correct order. The furniture is staged in reverse stop order. BEM assures the truck is loaded in the most efficient manner for quick unloading at the delivery site.

Information concerning completed deliveries, along with other Order based information is returned electronically to the department store at the end of the delivery day.

Decorators have merchandise for client homes shipped to RJH sometimes months in advance for a client site. These items are labeled and scanned for storage. When a decorator alerts RJH to the readiness of a client site, an Order is generated guiding the picking, loading, and delivery of the stored furniture items.

The installation of iBEM at RJH has been custom configured to meet their specialized needs – allowing them to provide this lucrative service at a rate more economical to their customers than self-delivery. The greater efficiency obtained through iBEM has allowed for this expansion of business while not increasing warehouse staff.

RJH has been so successful with the department store deliveries in New Jersey, they have since opened a satellite delivery warehouse in the Harrisburg PA area. Connecting via VPN, the satellite location utilizes the same server and application located in Vineland to process the deliveries out of Harrisburg. In fact the Harrisburg satellite location is working out so well, another site in Allentown, PA is in the works.
