ICON Central Laboratories implements iBEM 2008
ICON Central Laboratories, headquartered in New York with other locations in India, Ireland and Singapore, chose BarControl's iBEM 2008 to meet their Supply Chain software requirements.
A fast growing company dealing in medical testing supplies and clinical lab work, ICON was in great need of an inventory system. ICON chose BarControl's iBEM 2008 to meet their current local and future global requirements.
Installed at their
Long Island, New York location, iBEM is used to perform two primary functions. First and foremost, iBEM is used to process the medical testing kit and supply orders for their client doctors, clinics, and hospitals in North America. Secondly, the current inventory of testing supplies is maintained throughout the various testing labs at the facility.
ICON uses the Inventory module to maintain the levels and track the locations of their supplies. The Requisition and Purchasing modules automatically maintain inventory levels while the Order Management and Shipping modules process the orders. Unlike most sites inventory levels and usage are tracked through workstation transactions within the various labs, but hand held RF units from Motorola (formerly manufactured and supplied by Symbol) are used in the kitting area where orders are pulled and shipped.
With traceability being a major issue for medical supplies, iBEM with its superior level of inventory tracking detail was a perfect fit for ICON. iBEM has the flexibility to grow with their fast growing operation and changing requirements.
