ICON Central Laboratories expands iBEM 2008 installation to Singapore
ICON Central Laboratories, headquartered in New York with other locations in India, Ireland and Singapore, chose BarControl's iBEM 2008 to meet their Supply Chain software requirements.
Since the installation of iBEM at their Long Island, New York location, followed by Bangalore, India, ICON has expanded the installation of iBEM to their Singapore location. Singapore has become a regional hub for drug
development in Asia-Pacific and we now have the capacity, the range of testing services and, above all, a highly experienced team of lab professionals to support the growth of clinical trials in the region With the recent move to a new larger location in Singapore, BarControl's iBEM 2008 has assisted ICON Central Laboratories meet the growth in demand, which has increased by 149% over the past six months.
With iBEM, all three of the U.S., India, and Singapore sites have total visibility to inventory levels at the other locations, and while the processes remain uniform, the operations run independently of each other. Challenges included such tasks as requisitions and purchasing being performed in the local currency while current inventory stock valuations are maintained in U.S. currency. Inventory exchange orders among the three facilities were completed easily through iBEM.
